The Role

The Candidate

The Role

The Role

  • Reporting to the Regional Director for the day to day management of the manufacturing facility, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all staff, product quality and the maximisation of output and resources.

Opportunity to be part of a team forming a stand alone business and develop a TPM-based system of maintenance

The Role

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, ensuring the smooth and continuous operation of the plant through planned preventative maintenance programmes. Developing and implementing a strategic maintenance plan for the future expansion of the operation.
  • Responsible for a team of 12 maintenance technicians and 3 process engineers
  • Developing and delivering the plants preventative maintenance strategy
  • Ensuring maximum plant utilisation overseeing capital project work liaising with all site engineering services
  • Maintenance of plant & buildings and the coordination requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery
  • Plant breakdowns, work planning for shutdowns, Health & Safety
  • Management of engineering staff including mechanically and electrically skilled staff
  • Effective communication to all departments and staff
  • Identifying capital requirements for engineering/site services requirements, including writing progress capital/revenue projects as necessary
  • Implement and maintain both predictive and preventative maintenance schedules for all key items of plant and machinery

The Candidate

  • A sound operational leader with energy, commitment, drive, adaptability, creativity, problem solving and decision-making capabilities, capable of developing into a trusted and reliable member of the management team
  • A proven & successful track record in delivering in manufacturing environments with knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques, including experience of TPM and its implementation
  • Able to implement and drive maintenance performance improvement using lean tools, KPIs and visual management
  • Competent in PLC driven plant and machinery
  • An able coach and team builder with effective interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve their performance
  • Computer literate including proprietary maintenance management systems

  • Preferably apprentice trained with an engineering qualification in either mechanical or electrical discipline to at least HNC standard or equivalent.

Who we are looking for

Successful candidates will be able to utilise their previous experience in the design of Bridges and other Highway Structures along with their sound knowledge and understanding of DMRB standards.

Geotechnical Engineers

Due to the expansion of the Geotechnical team a Senior Engineer and an Engineer are needed to work on interesting and challenging projects, primarily involving the design of earthworks, retaining walls and slope remediation (including soil nailing, geotextiles and piling).

Both UK and overseas projects predominantly in Rail and Highways are currently undertaken in the York office. These roles are ideal for engineers with a strong technical background looking to increase their responsibility and gain experience in project management as part of career progression.

Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer                                   £35-45K
The successful candidate will act as team leader on projects and will be given the opportunity to play a key role in the development and management of the growing team.

Who we are looking for

  • Chartered engineer status
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology, ideally with an engineering MSc
  • All round appreciation of Geotechnical Engineering and an awareness of Environmental disciplines.
